On 17th January, Welspun Winilon Silk Mills was born at Palghar which was the first step towards becoming a solid Global Conglomerate that Welspun is today.

The company decided to manufacture SAW pipes in Dahej, Gujarat. This was when Welspun Gujarat Stahl Rohran Ltd. was born.

Set up its HSAW mill at Dahej, Gujarat.

A JV with the world’s second largest pipe coating company “Eupec Pipe Coating GmbH”, Germany, was set up for coating pipes at Dahej.

The Welspun City project was initiated in 2004 and completed in record time of 9 months. The Welspun City stands as Anjar in Kutch that was ruined during the 2001 earthquake.
